This summer, East Austin College Prep Escalera students (24 total) completed an 8-week college prep program at the MLK campus! Throughout the 8-week program, students participated in an overnight college visit and each completed a personal statement, mock interview, and individual presentation. These students celebrated their hard work & successes on Thursday, July 30th at the Escalera Celebration Ceremony where they received a $150 scholarship for their dedication to the Escalera program. East Austin College Prep Escalera students completed their final presentations at Texas State University on Wednesday, July 29th. Students received a tour of Texas State, dined on campus, and presented in a college classroom where they received feedback from their peers, parents and mentors! EAPrep students completed their third week of the NCLR Escalera College Prep program. Students engaged in activities and seminars such as “Roadmap to College," Life Skills and Financial Aid, and were visited by undergraduate & graduate students of Texas State University & Concordia University!
