Purpose and Objectives

We believe that the best way to learn a language is to completely immerse in the native culture and country, surrounding students with the language to enable them to practice the skills they have been learning in the classroom.

This trip will:
  • Provide students with real world Spanish language immersion.
  • Expose students to the culture and history of Spain.
  • Give students the opportunity to experience life in a foreign country.
We have chosen Spain because it is the birthplace of the Spanish language. Furthermore, many of our students are descended from Mexican immigrants and all are residents of Texas. The histories of both Texas and Mexico are indelibly linked to Spain and visiting Spain will provide a real world connection to this history and culture. This will be a socially and academically enriching opportunity that we believe our students will benefit from greatly.
